Do you and four more friends or colleagues wish to volunteer together abroad?
DGV has been able to support group volunteering numerous groups of individuals desiring to volunteer abroad with impactful experiences all together. • Family volunteering
  •  language and cultural immersion tours

What our family alumni say about their experiences?

“we have had an unforgettable trip to an amazing charity and cause. We met some fantastic people and unbelievably brave and wonderful children.”

Amy from UK visit to DGS Readers Expert

I have nothing but admiration for what Destiny Garden School has set out to achieve for its future, and I was extremely privileged to have been able to visit the school and see first-hand the developments (and problems) that the school encounters on a daily basis. There is so much more work to be done but so much has been done already, and the evidence is right there to see.

Simon, USA Readers Expert

“It was good to see the desks being made, and to know that ALL the money raised goes to the school, and isn’t swallowed up in admin etc.”

Matt Readers Expert

” My 8 weeks flew by and I can’t wait to go back. On my last day the children sang a song which included the words ‘we will never, never forget you’. I will never, never forget them.”

Volunteer Jannette, US Readers Expert

“I had a wonderful time at Destiny Garden School – a great experience and education for me. Jacob and all the staff are doing great work there, and the children are a delight. Living in Jacob’s house and having my meals cooked by his two house girls, Happy and Phoebe, was a wonderful experience of real Kenyan food and hospitality. Jacob and his family were very kind to me.”

I would have no hesitation in recommending other volunteers to come and volunteer with Destiny Garden voluntourism.

How long would my placement be?

Volunteers can stay for a short or long-term; it’s really up to you. Your placement may be for 1 or 2 weeks or months or even longer. All volunteers whether the short or long term will benefit from volunteering at DGV and even in one week can have a significant impact on the children and staff at the CHARITABLE SCHOOL and local Health Centres. You will be supported and guided in every way possible. In an emergency, you will not be alone. We will be there to assist you.

Where would you stay?

You will stay in the volunteer house provided for by the organization coordinator and mostly live with these families who are only a few minutes from the schools and health institutions not far from the projects. You will have breakfast and evening dinner at home of the directors from Monday to Friday and lunch at the school. At the weekend, all meals will be at home. We can also cater for any special dietary requirements. There is WIFI at home, but this is limited; there are however several internet cafés in town. Bedrooms may be shared depending on the number of guests

What about flights and transport from the airport?

If you are booking your placement directly with Destiny Garden Voluntourism, you will have to arrange your own flights. There are many websites, and travel agents who can assist you with this and good deals can be found. Most flights will require you to change at Nairobi for an internal flight to Mombasa where you will be met at the airport by one of the DGV staff. For our Kigali, Rwanda projects you will meet one of our team member available and hosted or booked in a hotel with affordable rates for accommodation and food.
